About Me

I am a community sports photographer based in St. Paul Minnesota.

I haven’t seen anybody identify as a community sports photographer. Basically it means I attend and photograph events that I have a relationship with, perhaps as an athlete, perhaps knowing the people participating, but local to me.

I do, however, tell people I freelance which means if someone wants my photos, I’ll work with them. An example is some of the ski teams who ask me to photograph their races.  They usually give me a lift ticket and a lunch for the photos.

Skiing

Skiing, however, is at a higher level. I shoot professionally and freelance. I shoot locally and throughout the US and abroad too. My concentration is with ski racing.

I still race but only in a local adult leagues what they call A Beer Leagues. One of them was featured in YouTube titled The Beer League. This is at Buck Hill and describes the Midwest attitude toward racing and skiing here.

Soccer

I played soccer when I was in college and continue to play now in various adult leagues. It’s one of my favorite sports. I understand the game which helps get good photos.

Equestrian

I grew up on a farm and we raised horses. So I feel at home photographing the Polo and Rodeos events in the area. And yes there is Polo and Rodeo in the upper Midwest!

Cycling

I bicycle a lot. I do a lot of touring and participate in various rides throughout the Twin Cities. I do not race but there are races which I photograph.

Social Media Sites

I have a presence on several social media sites. Instagram is the most significant because that is where I maintain my photography portfolio.
